How To Remove Your Vista Patio Door Panels.
(Useful if you have to move a larger item into your home) First, you have to remove the anti-lift weather-stripping from the top track where the two sashes interconnect. There will be a screw that you have to access from the interior and one screw from the exterior. Once the screws are removed, slide the weather-stripping unit towards the outside and it will come down. Secondly, you can now lift the moving sash up and swing it in towards the interior. Thirdly, the screen will now have to be removed. The best way to do this is to loosen the wheels only on the bottom. There are screws on the end of the track, and a Philips #2 screwdriver will work. turn them counter clockwise until the wheels lift with a pry bar ( or similar) on the bottom. The screen door with swing out from the bottom. Fourthly, the outside sash has to be lifted up close to the frame to free it from the interlocks that are hidden on the end of the sash. While you lift up the sash, pull it towards the center of the frame and it will slide over. Then you can lift it out and swing it in towards the outside or inside. Then your door opening will be completely usable. How to clean Hung (Vertical Sliders) Windows
Unlatch your single or double hung window. ON a single hung window where only the bottom portion opens, raise that sash as high as it can go, press the sash release buttons towards the center and gently tilt the sash into your home and rest it on the bottom sill or trim. Clean your window and then gently tilt it back into the frame of the window until it is securely latched. Similar to the single hung, with a double hung you can operate the lower interior sash as you would described above. But on the upper outside sash, only lower it enough to allow your fingers to access the sash release buttons and then gently pull the sash inward and lean carefully against the lower sash. After cleaning, raise both sashes towards the frame and securely engage into the track. Always insure that the sashes run effortlessly in the track, that they engage each other well when interlocked, and latch for airtightness. |
